Win 8.1 on SSD and Win 7 on HDD. HELP!

Hi Guys, I'm little bit frustrated as I've been trying to find solutions to fix it.

Okay, so here we go. I received my 240gb SSD today. This is to be added to my PC as a boot up and software drive.

But, without thinking, or should I say I thought it would delete windows 7 off my HDD, when I put the Win 8.1 on my SSD.

Now, I have 2 operating systems on my computer.

All I want is my SSD to have my Win 8.1 on and my HDD to have a fresh start with nothing on it.

If you guys can help that would be great.

Sorry if I sound aggressive.

Thanks,

Dec.

remove the SSD

Install the HDD

Format it (the HDD) with the win8.1 boot media (the install disk)

reinstall the SSD

If you do not have any valuable data on the HDD, just boot into Windows 8.1 and format the HDD.

1) unplug hdd

2) plug in SSD

3) boot from windows 10 USB stick (no reason to use 8, 10 is much better)

4) put windows on the SSD

5) plug HDD back in, but make sure you boot from the SSD

6) drag files from HDD to SSD

7) format HDD

8) not you can use the HDD for whatever you want

that will work as long as you don't do a quick format

I can recommend using GParted for formatting drives (needs booting from USB).

And yes, as Enderman said, if you can, switch to Windows 10 :)

No I didn't just said when installing Win 8.1 to put it on the SSD. As I thought it would be the correct thing to do, but obviously not. :(

nope

you screwed up

now you have to do it all over again, and unplug the HDD this time

and this time use windows 10,  its a lot better

you can just download this https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

and use a 4GB+ USB drive

then when it asks you to activate just put your windows 8 key in and it will work

what do you mean "will it go" ?

will it go where?

to kansas?

when you plug the HDD back in everything will still be there

thats when you can move the stuff to the SSD and then format the HDD

I'm sorry if I sound like a idiot. Just frustrated, thought it would be a simple process.

What if I wanted to delete everything in the HDD?

Thanks for helping me.
