Which should I use as my PhysX processor?

Use your gpu since it is more capable of these types of calculations. No, CS:GO does not utilize it.

physx isnt a thing nowadays. it died because they didnt let amd gpu's use it.

it's not dead, it's just not a game changer right now.

a lot of games use it for smoke, explosions or batmans shitty cape.

 

But yes, nvidia is a dick.

It is all about nvidia Physx Flex these days.

You shouldn't screw with the allocation of PhysX unless you have a decent second GPU that you can't use for SLI.

And, as other people have already said, CS:GO does not use PhysX. I'm not aware of any Valve games that use PhysX...

And depending on which Batman game you were talking about, you'd either be very right or very wrong. Regardless, it's an example of a very successful series of games that uses PhysX extensively.

 

OP: My guess is that the 850M is better suited to PhysX than your CPU, but I say why not just try it both ways, watching framerates, and see what your own results are?

 

Keep in mind that despite Nvidia's marketing, PhysX is often very demanding and it's not always an option for low/mid-range systems. It's possible that your laptop can't maintain the performance you want with PhysX on in many games, regardless of whether your GPU or CPU is your PhysX processor.

Mirror's Edge was known for showing off some really nice Physx effects back when it launched. I'm not sure if they are going to focus on that again this time around though.
