Material redesign on Google Chrome Canary

Shadic_

[This is breaking as of about an hour ago AFAIK, so no super new news links yet. We OC now boys]

Announced in February, it looks like the long awaited Google Chrome redesign is finally coming.

It's currently only available in Google Chrome Canary, and was actually available for about 5 hours 2 weeks ago or so, although was quickly reverted before I could get screenshots.

For now, it looks like only changes to the task bar, although more stuff is rumored to be on it's way. Some examples:

Bookmarks bar and tabs look different, and the "Hamburger" menu button is gone. The bookmark star is a lot sharper as well.

Oh, and buttons now have that fancy new Material "bubble" animation when you select or click them.

I meant it has been available in the normal one for a while and still is.

I am using it now.

Was just an experimental feature you could enable in chrome://flags

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Huh. It started a while ago for me, then went away, then just now came back. It might be different for everyone given that some people have had it for ages it seems.

No source links?  Against CoC :P

jk, I've always hoped we'd one day get actual OC news!  cool :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Tried it for a bit. Looks okay except for that the top bar with the tabs and the bar for the url etc is too large for me. That and the plugin icons being too small makes it look kinda strange.
