How bad did I screw up?

Streaming? On an i5 with no GPU? Good luck, if you're trying to stream a game, you'd be lucky to get 720p 30 FPS

In terms of the PSU, I'd return it. Sure, it will work for a while, especially without a GPU, but 430 W really limits you in GPU choices and the CX series temp tolerance makes a discrete GPU even more risky

Partially agree, at least about the streaming part. However the CX is built with no-GPU or low power GPU systems in mind and OPs system is totally fine for one.

That's what I meant :P

If OP keeps it, future GPU choices will be limited to lower power GPUs

Yea fear not everyone I'll be upgrading the PSU when I get a new GPU, the hassle of re-plugging everything will be annoying but worth it. If I can't stream well fuck it but it will at least be able to use the PC as a work station to handle the Elgato and the software and render my video. My laptop can, just really slow, so I know a desktop cpu can.

Does the case have an opening for the PSU fan? If so, point the fan at that. If not, point it into the case.

It does but im not sure how much clearance its going to have from the table im putting it on, since its a lower end psu I want to make sure it gets plenty of air. But yes it has a space to face down with a dust filter.

Yea but when I get a GPU I'll be replacing the PSU as well. I COULD return it now its still boxed up but I really don't wanna wait on shipping again and all that. If it works for now then I'm happy, I just don't want it to explode on me. And as for the streaming goes It'll be through an Elgato HD 60 which handles most of the work you just need a decent cpu to handle the software and OBS and all that crap.

Since I had been on that train too, getting a PSU and GPU upgrade, i would suggest you to check my topic:

I read a small portion, yes I plan on getting a seasonic psu when I upgrade as a ton of people say they use better capacitors or something like that.

I eventually bought the R9 380 4G by MSi, but smthing happens when I try to run some benchmark. The pc will freeze. The screens will turn off, and will only fire up again if I reset.

it will be totally fine its 80+ rated

ratings relate to efficiency not quality, you want to check the quality of components in a psu, just because its efficient doesn't make it reliable

Naah, it's finals time, and my next upgrade will either be a case (NZXT H440 matte black) or a new boot SSD because the one I have now is 60 GB and I can't store anything right now. The time I am writing I have half a gig available.

Well my topic wasn't considering an upgrade, I know im getting one when budget allows but the topic was basically on how good or bad the CX430 is, most people are saying I'll be fine for just using the pc as a work station light gaming with no dedicated gpu. Down the road when I upgrade I'll probably make a topic about it, have no idea what ill go for at that time, probably won't go overkill as I don't really plan to play super intense games.

CX430 is NOT to be used with a GPU, only iGPUs. Any dGPU will result in issues of some caliber.

Alright thank you for clarifying, as I said, when I get a gpu, the psu goes. I only went budget for right now because I knew I wasn't gonna be slapping a gpu in there yet.

CX430 is a fantastic office PSU but a terrible gaming PSU (due to heat and power draw)

Gaming on an iGPU is a bad experience either way. HD 530 is tosh.

Yea well I didn't plan on trying to boot up crysis on it or something, I mean simple stuff like diablo 3, that's a more cpu intensive game I do believe. And flash games should be fine too yea?

Minining severely reduces the life of the GPU though.

As long as games run without freezing you can live with your PSU. If it starts doing it in games then it's a must to replace. Your OC is neat :D

I don't really know about diablo, but I got flash games running at 30-60 FPS with a pentium 3. So no joke you can.
