Just saw this article and found it quite interesting. It was undeniable that we would need a replacement for silicon soon so im sure we all saw this coming. I think its prety cool that we have already made a functioning chip that is not made from silicon

I think the next actually feasible step isn't carbon nanotubes, it's gallium mixed with something else.

No, it will be insanely fun. Tinker with your CPU down to the last transistor.

Ridiculous amount of die space + outrageous amount of cores and I would be pleased. Now if only they could make GPU cores out of carbon.

It's not silicone, it's silicon. Silicone is a synthetic gel like material. Silicon is a natural metalloid that acts as a semiconductor.

really interesting article, great breakthrough although it will be at least a decade before I see some of that tech in my PC but still. I liked the way that the processes were explained in the article. Thanks OP
