Just upgrade GPU, or start from scratch?

So right now, I'm on this build

16GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM

2x 500GB SSDs

3TB Caviar Green

i5 3570k @ 4.2ghz

Corsair CX 750W PSU

and a 780ti @ 1150 mhz

So, there's a couple things I could do.

1) Build a new rig altogether which would take me until probably around middle of 2017

2) Just get a 1070 (Or 1080) and keep my current platform, which leaves the question of bottlenecking

Which do you think? I'm running an ROG Swift so I would certainly benifit from an upgrade, I'm just not sure that the platform I'm currently on could handle a GTX 1080 decently at 1440p. What do you guys think?

Stay with the build, its still pretty good but maybe upgrade to an i7 3770k.

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I would think that you'd be fine if a bit of overclocking was done to the CPU to keep up with the 1070.

As many have said though, nobody is truly sure about how fast the 1070 and 1080 REALLY are.

Is the hyperthreading worth the $350 extra for a used CPU? I feel like at that point I may as well get a new board and CPU for like $100 more, and keep everything else but get better performance...

Stick with the build for as long as possible.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Only yours, you don't shitpost on the same level that we can, mainly because this thread is finally dead and should be locked.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.
