will have to see what the actual benchmarks are for Polaris and Pascal, its stupid to make a decision until then because thats just blind brand support.

I also have a 970 but college doesn't see me gaming as much so I will probably hold off until Volta. :)

Hmm there are at least two other similar threads pertaining the new 1070/1080s.

 

Regardless to not make this wasted space...

 

I'm hoping AMD won't let me down with Polaris. I'm hoping that the 480X will have about 390X performance at 380X price.

Otherwise if the 480X is weaker than the 390X then I think it'll be the GTX 1070 for me.

That's a better attitude, than what I've seen lately.

 

I'm planning on the 480X being my choice, but of course if it disappoints then I'll probably go for the 1070.

I am truly hopeful that the new GTX line is as good as it was presented.  I do however understand that this was a marketing session, and ANY shortcomings that Pascal has (if it has), would be kept out of the event.

 

Either way, my next card will have most likely have HBM2... so no, I won't be looking at the 1070.
