(QUIZ) PC Handeling/Traveling

Go to solution Solved by Serath,

Mine will likely be in my carry-on...

... It's a 12 Liter mini-ITX, so it's very managable. :P Only thing that concerns me is border control as I fear the chance that they might want to see the innards, perhaps carry a screwdriver with me as that wouldn't be too hard to do.

Most valueable part in my case would be the GPU, but the case has a bracket to secure it.

So, I'd say the best way to travel is, if you have the money to spare, convert to a very slim mini-ITX, unless you absolutely have to have SLI/Crossfire and/or watercool everything. But at that point I wonder why anyone would want to haul that much with them... :|

If you were to take your pc and travel to a different country

on plane

#1 What will it be on?

Carry-on/ On luggage

#2 what Pc part should you take care of most?

#3 Whats the best way everyone should do if they want to travel with their pc?

       Percentage scores

0-10% = F (you no geek)

11-40% = (tiny hint of geekness in your whole life)

41-60% = (dennis is disappointed in you)

61-70% = (Slight Tech geek)

71-80% = (Average Tech)

81-90% = (tech beast)

91-100% = (TECH LEGEND aka LINUS GOD) xD

#1: Luggage, have fun carrying it in a carry on.

#2: Take out the gpu and heatsink (if it a big cooler), stuff computer with like, newspaper to keep it sturdy.

#3: The best way to do it is not travel with a pc unless it is necessary.

My Main PC:

CPUi5 3570k CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 Motherboard: Asus p8z77-v pro  RAM: Crucial Balistic 2x4gb  GPU: Two PNY GTX 680's in SLI Case: Some rando Antec one  PSU: Thermaltake 1000w  Display: HP Elite Display 321i 23''  Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 128gb, Seagate Barracuda 1tb

Polls are nice.

#1. Luggage.

#2. Motherboard.

#3. Take it apart, a GPU, psu, CPU, drives, etc are just little boxes, wrap in anti static, then a bunch of bubble wrap, then a box. How do you think they got to you?

The case and mobo are harder, the case because it is bigger, and the mobo because of it's fragile nature, but either way the solution remains the same.

There are 3 questions. If they're equally weighted it's impossible to get 71-90% or 41-60%.

1. Luggage (you can tell because just try taking a 900D as a carry-on)

2. GPU b/c it's most expensive unless you have a really pricey CPU

3. You used the wrong "their" so...

How are you calculating these scores?

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

1: luggage, with a lot of wrapping

2: everything that could bend /  get damaged from bumping should eitrher be sturdied or taken off and put separetly, like GPU and big air coolers

3: laptop is the best alternative if you want to travel but if you need to take your desktop PC with you take our your GPU and take off any air big tower style air cooler you may have and pacadge them separetly, also make sure to wrap it in bubble wrap or similar to prevent damage

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#1) Separate Luggage

#2) Motherboard and the hard drive

#3) Take every component of the computer and put it into an antistatic bag (an original box would be even better). Shield the most fragile ones like harddrives, CPUs, MoBos and GPUs with some foil or newspaper aswell.

Also putting them in a seperate luggage would be even better.

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

Main rig: Intel i7 6700K @ 4 Ghz with Silverstone Argon AR06 + Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM, Asus Z170I Pro Gaming, 2 x 8 GiB Corsair LPX Red @ 2.133 Mhz, MSI GTX 1080 Founders Edition, 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB, Corsair SF600, Silverstone Raven RVZ02 (no window version).

For on the road: MSI GE72 2QC Apache with 16 GiB RAM upgrade.
