My first overclock, i7-6700k => 4.5 MHz, 1.325 V, I did it right?...

Hi,
This is my first overclock in entire my life.

i7-6700k

Asus Z170i Pro Gaming

Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 3200 Mhz

Corsair H100i V2

What I did:

  1. Core Ratio Limit => 45
  2. CPU Core/Cache Voltage => Manual Mode
  3. CPU Core Voltage Override => 1.325

Is it good?.

4.5MHz is about 1000x slower than current CPUs

4.5MHz was a big thing like a decade ago

Well i running at 1.22 volts at 4.7Ghz with my i5 4690k. So maybe try fiddling with the volts more?

Hope this helps :P

Not bad, you may be able to get 4.6 out of it at that voltage, maybe 4.7 if you have a good chip.

Should I change 45 to 47 with the same voltage?

4.5MHz? Damn! That's a serious underclock (:

Well done. I'd try to get the voltage lower, even if it involved going to slightly lower clocks.

Sig under construction.

Lol no xD, i got very lucky with my overclock. Go for 1.21 volts at 4.5Ghz :P

But if you really need 4.7Ghz then go for 1.275 volts or 1.30

Hope This helps :P

you might want to try for 4.5GHz instead of 4.5MHz

Try to go higher, see if you fail, but don't up the voltage too much further.

4.7 GHz, 1.4 V

Temps looks good, isn't?.

What do you think?, I don't know what i am doing..

I tried with 1.330 V but I had received a blue screen so I changed it to 1.4 V

4.5mhz is literally 1000x times slower that 4.5 ghz.

keep same voltage, add.1ghz

Skylake has much higher voltage tolerance, not very many chips will do 4.7 @ 1.275 or 1.3.

Try it and see if it's stable in Aida64 or something of the sort.

Maybe skylake CPU's need more voltage... that seems very high for broadwell at least. As i heard if you use 1.4 Volts it can really damage your CPU overtime. Try 4.5 as it is a very good overclock regardless and the extra 200Mhz for a shorter lifespan isn't worth it :P
