Rajintek has released Morpheus II

Fulgrim

A new VGA cooler has been released by Raijintek, and it looks pretty nice imo. Would love slapping 2 Noctua fans onto that thing.

Looks nice, but I think that the Prolimatech Mk-26 is the king, 140mm fans baby, although it is a behemoth

Would be a nice upgrade for hot-running reference cooled cards for those who don't want to bother with watercooling. Looks pretty beastly. Wonder how well it performs...

Yeah me too. The pure black industrial look is really cool imo, but I think the kind of people who are going to be installing aftermarket coolers on their gpus would likely be looking for watercooling, either an aio or custom. I wonder how many ppl will want this

Because it's better than pretty much all the reference air coolers on offer. And it looks badass imo.

2x 120mm quite fans with more airflow than the 3x 80mm fans on my Windforce x3? Brilliant.

Edit: and before anyone says "what about the back plate", Gigabyte went full retard and put half of the vRAM on the back when there is enough room for it to fit on the top with all of the traces, so having even vRAM temps would help with memory overclocking since it comes with the necessary heatsinks.

12 heatpipes ? That's a lot of heatpipes . But personally , if i feel the need to upgrade the stock cooler from my gpu , i rather go full on and strap an aio cooler to it  (kraken g10).

And yes , i know AIO cooling isn't "full on" , but custom liquid cooling is . Just work with me here.

Bollocks to AIO's mate, they're noisy as fuck, and there's always the chance of it leaking, or the pump dying. 2 extra points of failure.

I think it's cool, as I'm the type of person who doesn't like to settle for stock even if it's good enough (my gtx770 has a sedion 120m on it) so I'm curious now if an Ncase M1 would have enough room to strap this to a GPU and run the fans in exhaust.

Looking into it though, even with slim fans I highly doubt I could get something to fit :-( back to a lame blower cooler.

Never understood how the pricing for these work.

Morpheus ($50) + 2x NF-F12 ($40) = $90

PRO-MK-26 ($70) + 2x NF-A15 ($42) = $112

While:

Kraken G10 ($30) + Corsair H55 ($60) = $90...

They're nice and all but the pricing just makes no sense. The AIO solution would cool better as well. These hunk of metal should be cheaper.

Personally own an Accelero Xtreme III which currently costs $72. Has both heatsink + fans included. Works well with my 980 Ti. Doesn't cool as well as the AIO setup but it was well worth the money for the noise and temp reduction.

This would cool the VRM's better than the Kraken G10. Also, it'll be a lot quieter. And personally i'm against AIO's, i even swapped my Corsair H110i GTX out for my good ol' Noctua NH-D15.

And i don't think it will be that far off the likes of the Kraken G10 in regards to cooling performance.

I... fail to see the appeal of this product. Unless Raijntek partners with PNY to make a "Morpheus" card out of the box, I just can't see this being any useful.

That is true, in the case VRM does need really good cooling and will lose the cooling with the stock cooler removed. If you're worried about noise, get the H90 then, $20 more (so still cheaper than the PRO-MK-26 setup) (Side note: For CPU, I completely agree AIO makes no sense)

Depending on the card, some already have all the heatsinks taken care of with the front plate:

cooler4.jpg

MSI Gaming 6G 980 Ti.

Even if the card doesn't have a front plate (or have to be removed to install other coolers), those tiny copper heatsinks costs a few bucks only...

In most cases, the G10 + H55/H90 or (G10 + H55/H90 + heatsink + thermal tape) will overall outperform the morpheus/pro-mk setup at the same cost. Leaving the only disadvantage of AIO for all scenarios being extra space in the case must be had for the radiator.

EDIT:

Not to mention the advantage of AIO being most of the hot air can be directed out of the case rather than spewed in the case with the massive heatsink solution...

Again, I think these massive heatsink solution is great but their price really ruins it for me.

It'll only outperform it by a small amount tbh. I'd pick the likes of the Morpheus II over a liquid AIO any day of the week.

I just can't bring myself to trust watercooling. I'd like to strap one of these to a rediculous old card like my 650 ti boost or my 460 or my 560 ti 448 cores and see what I can get for overclocks.

True....., but also not. I had the first morpheus and had big VRM issues. The long row of VRMs is fine as they have an outstanding heatsink for those. The problem is that the second group of VRMs in the top left corner of the GPU (R9 290 -  those three very small ones) and there is no good heatsink included for those and due to the rounded top shape of those VRMs, the included thermal adhesive does not keep any combination of heatsink in place. I tried several times, and yes it was clean, so I personally think this is the perfect upgrade for a Twin Frozr card, since those have the great unisink over Vram and VRMs and you only need the big hunk of metal that the actual cooler is.

It seems like they put so much effort into getting the actual GPU cooled that they forget about some very important components of the card all together.

I have raijintek morpheus on my r9 290 and my VRMs never go over 60 degrees, thermal adhesive works great and nothing falls off :D Only minor complaint about this cooler is that my GPU takes about 5 slots

From what I've seen, AIO solution gets consistently better results. And not just marginally better either.

13052117437l.jpg

OC3D paired the G10 with the X40 (which is weaker and louder than the H90) but they also paired the morpheus with Raijintek supplied 120mm's (so I assume it'll be weaker than the likes of NF-F12) so they are sort of at equal grounds. G10 setup gets 9 degrees better.

nzxt_kraken_g10_liquid_cooling_gpu_mounting_kit_review_28

Tweaktown paired the G10 again with x40 and the MK-26 with Corsair SP120 (not 140mm but still not bad fans by any means). G10 overclocked gets 10 degrees better than MK-26 overclocked...

Last one I could find with odd results:

rajtemps

Kitguru paired the morpheus with two noctua fans, they didn't mention which, but from the picture they look like two different fans. Although the G10 with x40 still managed 5 degrees better I find these result untrustworthy. Mostly because of the oddly great result of the xtreme IV

So there you have it, same price and better performing than the massive heatsink counterpart. I suppose buying your own high quality 120/140mm fans would mean the massive heatsink setup would be very quiet, but the H90 can also be very quiet (according to reviews) so...yea...
