PSU - Change the fan.

Hey people,

 

So I plan to buy the following PSU but I want to change the fan to something thats black and not the ugly grey it comes with, anyone have experience of changing the fan inside a psu?

it's a regular fan just open it up and swap the fans

be sure to understand that you will be voiding your warranty by doing that

and be aware that the fan is not supposed to be in sight when the PC is built

Nice I was hoping it was just a regular fan set up, Yeah I don't mind voiding the warranty :) and its going inside a Lian Li pc-05 so the fan will be visible, hence I'm eager to get rid of the ugly grey.

also be aware that psu internals are very dangerous and can hold a charge even after not being plugged in.  they can hurt and even kill.

I'd just say to leave it unplugged for about a day.  you might want to do some research on opening a psu for safety reasons though

just don't touch the caps and you'll be fine

you cannot "pop the fan blade off"

you need to unscrew the whole fan and replace it
