PC Build, Gaming

Hello,

I wanted to build my first PC.

I'm located in Luxembourg (central EU) and will order most parts via Amazon.de (maybe some Hardware store) in Euros.

My budget is around 1000Euro, I can go up to 200Euro over that (max).

The PC will mostly be used for gaming, maybe some streaming/video editing and some simple work (OpenOffice, etc.)

I'm plainning on using a single Asus monitor: 1080p, 144hz, 1920x1080, with DisplayPort, doesn't count into my budget. Sometimes gonna get a second one with 720p (probably not to be considered).

To the peripherals (also not in the budget):

Corsair M65 RGB mouse (for alluminium body)

Redragon K551 VARA mechanical keyboard (also for aluminium)

Planning on running Microsoft 10 (64-bit) Home

The stuff I wanted to use:

-AMD FX 8350 4.0GHz (is rather cheap and seems decent)

-Noctua NH-D15 cooler (maybe gonna do some mild overclocking, maybe not, heared the CPU gets rather hot)

-MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard (has everything I need, is alo not too expensiv)

-Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2x4) (rather small so they don't get in the way of the cooler)

-WD Blue 1TB HDD (speaks for itself)

-Samsung EVO 850 250GB SSD

-Asus Strix AMD R9 390 8GB

-Rhombutech 850 Watt Power Supply (maybe have to go with a 1000 Watt, as the build uses +/- 500 Watt usage)

-Corsair Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition fans (2x Pack, 2 are already in the case)

Case:

-Corsair Carbide Series 200R

I don't need (want) a window, nor LEDs, going for as simple as possible but with a decent quality. Black colour would be nice. Other part's colour doesn't matter (no side window).

I can't use any old parts, as I'm switching from a Mac to Windows PC :(

Anybody got recommendation (and no, I'm not an AMD fanboy, just seemed convenient)?

Thank you in advance

First, I would go i5 over 8350 any day. Second, don't get the Asus Strix version of the R9 390. I would pick the MSI or Sapphire version. Third, power supply. Get a decent power supply, not that piece of junk. You don't need an 850 watt power supply. Get something 500-600 watts from Seasonic.

slightly overkill psu wattage, but its the cheapest quality psu i can find `-`

needs to be above 550W because the r9 390 is power hungry

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Did you already have the monitor? or were you going to buy it separately? because you could just get a Free-sync display for probably the same price unless that one is used

Also a 390 is going to be faster than a 970, and you could get a free-sync display probably.

Ya...you can get a free-sync 1080p 144hz display for less than that 251 EU here, or for the same price on amazon, the free-sync will give you smoother gameplay in games that can't run at 144fps, like most AAA games maxxed out.

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/part/aoc-monitor-g2460pf

You could also maybe go for a 6600K + Z170 over an i7 6700, but I'd go for the extra threads man as the 6700 already turbos to 4ghz.

To get the G-Sync version, I have to pay 390Euros. Gonna see at what price the PC will end up and see what monitor I get. Maybe I can update later on it. Thx for the info, gonna keep an eye on it

Ya, G-sync is more expensive, but in any case a 380/390 are faster than a 960/970 anyways, and you get better DX12 support with AMD.

Ok, I'm also not gonna be playing anything on a level where stuttering is going to kill me. So probabaly gonna go with the non G-Sync version. Thanks for helping me

You have the budget for a skylake i5 and a 380 with a free-sync display, or am I missing something? there'd be no real reason to get a 950 with your budget.
