First Time build opinions on choices

fully1208

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

  • Location - UK
  • Budget - under £1000, including OS.
  • AIM - Primarily playing games such as BF4, Metro 2033, GTA V etc in 1080p or 1440p where possible.
  • Monitor - I already have a 27inch Samsung HD LED monitor.
  • Peripherals - New ones not necessary but would be an added bonus.
  • Reason for Build - Want to move away from Console gaming and also always had an interest in building my own PC.
  • Appearance - I was hoping to go along the lines of black and red colour scheme but again this is not a necessity would just be a nicety.

I have tried my hand at making my own selection of components but not sure if they will do as I require or if they are maybe a bit of overkill, also if there is a way to drop the price for equal or better performance I wouldn't complain at all.

Here is what I came up with myself

Personally i would have gone with Win10 rather than 8.1, It just feels right compared to 8.1.

Other than that the build looks great

Windows 8.1 is pretty cheap in the UK right now and you can upgrade anyway.
