Gskill Ripjaws V vs Trident Z

Which memory should I go with? Which gives better performance and why?

Z > V cuz alphabet and Z is a cooler looking character, it's like Zorro or something.... Thy why it's Titan Z not Titan V

oh.. if only G.Skill would release an X model... that would be so much better

to be serious tough...

look at the clock speed and CAS timings - higher clock, lower latency. Divide clock by latency and get the relative representative performance

CPU: Intel i7 5820K @ 4.20 GHz | MotherboardMSI X99S SLI PLUS | RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz | GPU: Sapphire R9 Fury (x2 CrossFire)

The difference won't probably be noticeable in a real life scenario. Whichever is the cheapest although TridentZ looks better.

There's not much to go off of there  what speed are they?

The name of the ram makes very very very little difference to how they perform

between the 2 you may see 1fps difference if they are the same speed.

Just get what ever one you like the looks of better.

Performance should be the same for both of them, in the real world most won't be able to tell. Trident Z looks better, but they're taller, so unless you're planning to run AIO, some boards will prevent you from installing the ram to every slot when you're running air cooling.

Thanks so much, I have a noctua NH-D15 cooler and it is an absolute giant so I'll stick with Ripjaws V!

I was using the Ripjaws V and I like the design because it is low profile and it c an fit any air cooler around. Since I use an AIO cooler now, I went for the faster Trident Z. It just complements the look of my rig and is much faster in terms of performance. But, if you want an affordable RAM without compromising on performance, the Ripjaws should be efficient enough.

Ripjaws V 42mm

Trident Z 44mm

Hyper x fury 32.8mm

naked ram 30mm

Dh15 w/fan just 32mm of clearance

Without fan it gives 64mm of clearance

In my motherboard, the memory is only on one side. Can I not add the fan on the side where there isn't extra memory?

You mean the i/o side? That's a option. The other is to just install the fan in a higher position and it should be fine too.
