Mineral oil pc

I am going to build a mineral oil pc soon and chose all of the components already. I was just curious if I could have some opinions of these choices and whether or not I should change something to my build. Also any advice towards building mineral oil pc's would be helpful. My first one ;)

The components

  • Asus maximus viii gene m-atx
  • saphire nitro r9 390 8gb
  • g skill ripjaws 5 2x 8gb
  • cm master air maker 8
  • RMi series rm850i
  • intel core i7 6700k
  • 120gb kingston ssd now
  • wd blue 1 tb (i know it cannot go in the oil)
  • Asus wifi card (PCE-AC68)

Thanks in advance!

Why?

Cons :- Can't maintain it easily ,cant clean it easily, expensive, cooling is meh, seems delicate (no metal case just a fish tank).

Pros :-  Sounds cool

Seems a bit of a faff for not much benefit to me .

Would certainly be a pain in the *** to maintain as our commander and chief, Linus, stated. However, a willing man with a well thought out plan; why not?

I wish you luck on your endeavour.

The components looks good so far. You may should get 16 GByte RAM as upgrading later is a pain. The PSU is a bit an overkill but will work fine. A bigger SDD would also be a good change.

But the way more importatnt questions are:

- What case / DIY do you use?

- How do you cool the oil?

- What oil do you use?

If you start the build, please make a build log.

Also look here:

EDIT: It is already a build log ;)

My bad.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying don't do it I am just saying that FOR ME it seems a lot of faff for no benefit,

But if it is really what you (TINY)want then go for it.

I will use a fishtank from the pet store

I will hook up a large radiator and a pump to cool the oil

And I will use the same type of oil that Linus did in his video

Sounds reasonable. Should be fine.
