Subtitles not showing properly

On my laptop, the subtitles i downloaded separately from the movie i have work fine, and on my PC, it shows a bunch of random letters, does anyone here know how to fix this?

When it's an oldass movie i can watch on my TV for free via vod, and i need it for school, i think i can make an exeption

Sometimes they just bad subtitles is it with all movies?

use vlc

I do, they work via same software on my laptop, but not on the pc with it, nothing added to both pcs that should help

 

do i need to download anything to enable this?

 

And it's like that with all movies, english subtiltes work fine but hebrew ones don't on my desktop, but on laptop just fine.
