How would you upgrade my rig?

Hey guys,
It was my birthday yesterday, and I was gonna get something new for my PC, a small upgrade per se.
I don't have the money to upgrade my motherboard and therefore my cpu and ram to DDR4-supporting standards,
So i was wondering what your reccomendations are for upgrading my rig, with a limit of about $300?
I mostly play Strategy and FPS games, some Sport games.

My specs are:
i5-3570k
ASUS P8-Z77 LX Motherboard
GTX 760
8GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD and 120GB SSD
My peripherals are fine!

Thanks!

MOAR RAMS
8gb is useless for me.

R9 290x/280x because 760 is pretty bad (i used to have one)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

This^ Or a R9 290(x)/390, you can still find those for a significant discount. Or, I don't know how much storage you have remaining on the ssd, but going with a higher capacity one (Samsung 850 Evo, Sandisk Extreme Pro). It sounds like you are playing a myriad of games, none of which are super taxing on the system, and I think an ssd makes a huge difference when everything is on it.

It's pretty good overall. If it does the job it does the job.

  • If you do any sort of CPU intensive work maybe upgrade the CPU but if you don't and it is fine for what you are doing just keep it.
  • Again. If the GPU is fine it is fine. Maybe look at a 380x. It will do better at 1080p and will give you the option to upgrade to 1440p.
  • Maybe cooling?you have only listed your core components but maybe just make your PC I bit cooler quieter and just make it look better. I reccomend Noctua redux fans and the new CoolerMaster Masterair maker 8. Looks badass as shit. The BeQuiet! Shadow Rock Slim is also a nice cheap cooler.

Having $300 does not mean you must spend something on it. Can save up and upgrade when it's really necessary. Your system looks fine, so save it.

Might be worth it when you get a better gpu like Nvidia Pascal or AMD Polaris.

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy x360 BP series Intel 8th gen

AMD ThreadRipper 2!

5820K & 6800K 3-way SLI mobo support list
