This basically sums up everything wrong with uneducated DX12 hype

1. Lower end AMD CPU's being neck in neck with high end Intel CPU's for gaming

2. AMD GPU performance jumping up over 1 tier, specifically the 290x "beating" the Titan X which is 2 tiers above. Remember, draw call capability doesn't mean jack in real world performance. (I'd be happy if my 390X/290 could consistently match or beat the 980, but so far DX12 has only benefited my card in AoTS, and it'll take a while for it to be implemented).

AMD cpu's have not been able to compete with Intel on single threaded processes for quite some time now especially at the high end. There is a reason people almost never recommend FX series processors. Just upping the clock speed will help a little bit but nowhere neer enough to make it count. Multi core applications are where they thrive and even in those most of the time i7s outclass them.

He thought that PC was still running 32-bit games in 2016 just because console is limited to 32-bit. Lol, excuse me, basically every new game lists 64 bit Windows as a min requirement, also a lot of games require more than 4gb of ram which is what 32 bit is limited to.

Wow just wow. Sounds like every kid at my school. Really this is why I see Vulkan as more helpful. DX12 can sure have some shiny features that don't do a whole lot. But let's say you made a game with vulkan, well now you have the largest market any game has had. Every platform from IOS, to android to windows. Obviously  a AAA game won't run on a phone but it would be really cool to see a toned down version run on it. Heck the 6s has enough horsepower to play most source games and then some!

I agree. Phones might not be able to match the graphical fidelity, but certainly the quality and storytelling of PC AAA games is far, far, better than Phone games. So if that could get transported to iOS/Android, that would be amazing.

I have looked into this extensively and I am learning C++ currently and my project is to port over a source game to IOS. Surprisingly since source is written in C++ it isn't as hard as you think. The hard part is making the multiplayer work and all the mods.
