Hello. I just want to learn a few things..

I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop.

1 laptop is very old while the other is pretty new.

Both of them are has Malwarebytes 1.7 on the old laptop it takes 2-3 or maybe more hours to fully scan while on the new ones it'll take only 1 hour.

Now on my desktop.. It has Malwarebytes 2.2 and installed on a SSD. Scanning takes only 5mins.

So my question will be..

Is it because of the Processing power that's why my desktop scans faster?

Is it because it's Malwarebytes 2.2?

Is it because of the SSD?

Or is it because of everything stated above?

Thanks!

Note: Assume they have same contents on the drives. :)

CPU might affect it if your have a slow CPU, but since virus are on storage and that is what its scanning, your storage speed is the main factor. Malewarebytes scans significantly faster on an SSD over and HDD.

I see. It's the SSD then.. I initially thought CPU plays a big factor since SSD deals with file transfer while scanning is finding virus on the files. Hahaha.

Thanks everyone!
