How much faster is R9 290x vs R9 290 now that we have DX12 and more mature drivers.

It is pretty clear that AMD has a big lead in performance on DX12 vs NVIDIA.

I am wondering what is the performance difference between R9 290 and R9 290x now that we have DX12 and more mature drivers.

R9 290x has 256 more Stream Processors and 16 more ROPs compared to R9 290

maximum 10-15%

(5-8/9fps) in CERTAIN titles, so not all games

About the same as 390X vs 390 difference. Since 290, 390 and 290X, 390X have the same GPU chips. Just with lower core clocks and memory clocks.

The gap between 290 and 290X should increase a little in DX12 because the additional hardware in the 290X should be utilized more effectively than it is atm.
