I don't have a GTX 770 but I have a 970 equivalent, and I can say it is a very good card. A 770 won't be able to do GTA V high settings, my 390 (like a 970) can, just about, do all max apart from advanced settings and with FXAA off, MSAA 2x and grass on High at 1920x1080@60Hz

If you play low-end games then a GTX 960 might still be better than a 770 as it is newer.

Also, some people say an R9 390 is better than a 970 - your choice :)

the 390 is cheaper and has more raw power

the 8gb is a factor in those vram and ram eating games

can confirm that a 390 will work. I have no problems with Minecraft or games similar to GTA V and j3.

Go for the R9 390, it's a beast of a card.

Workstation:

Intel Core i7 6700K | AMD Radeon R9 390X | 16 GB RAM

Mobile Workstation:

MacBook Pro 15" (2017) | Intel Core i7 7820HQ | AMD Radeon Pro 560 | 16 GB RAM
