assuming at 1080p and you're not going to use nvidia's features, the R9 390

ANy ideas on what one? i was thinkging of the sapphire nitro edition

Personally, I prefer the MSi version. The Sapphire version is also very nice.

performance in game ranking

390 > 970 > 380x

Vram amount

390 > 380x > 970

efficiency ranking (lower consumption = higher rank)

970 > 390~=380x

features:

970 = Nvidia's features (Shield, G-sync, Geforce Experience, Shadowplay, etc etc)

380x/390 = Freesync (not much AMD feature to mention)

Doesn't make a lot of sense, as above 1080p is where the 390 starts to really outpace the 970....

The 970 consumes less power and Nvidia software comes with (arguably) better bells and whistles than the AMD Crimson package. However, the 390 is better at raw performance, especially at higher resolutions than 1080p due to more/faster VRAM. It consumes notably more power which in itself is actually irrelevant, but the byproduct is obviously heat, so if you are building in a small form factor or playing in an insulated broom closet the 390 will be a worse decision. If you have adequate cooling and PSU powr, the 390 will play games better.

yea but the 390 still beats out the 970 in 1080p, and some games in 1080p can max out the 3.5gb vram already, albeit modded

390 for sure there, but it raises another question: why are you dropping so much on the GPU PSU CPU and MB....and skimping on the CPU cooler? Even a basic AIO would be not much more expensive and would allow you to actually take full advantage of the "K" at the end of the 6600.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-cpu-cooler-rlkrx4101 would be my suggestion. You'll have plenty of options for mounting in that case, and it will allow you to OC that CPU to your hearts content.

err... im not into gameplay recording with external softwares... perhaps you can make a thread asking which software is best for recording? xD

but i think the answer would be OBS

whether fraps is fine for recording or not... well i guess its fine, but the impact on cpu performance im not sure, and the bitrate too

but generally people would recommend OBS or something
