Okay, is the Sapphire nitro overclocked at default? if not how far can it go?

well it says at the website 1010mhz, but i guess it'll boost higher if available (unless im wrong)

you can probably push it higher by overclocking it yourself

how far can it go depends on your luck in the silicon lottery

Well i was originally thinking of buying a gtx 970 then people said the r9 390 was better so i looked into it and i am worried about the frame stutter in just cause 3! What should i do? I play minecraft justcause 3 GTAv and rocket league at 1650 x 1050 until i have saved my money for a 1080p panel! what do i do?

The R9 390 is the overall better card. I wouldn't worry about one game, you'll probably have the GPU for far longer than you'll play a game like JC3.

either card is fine at 1080p, the 390 is a bit better tho, im not sure what the frame studder in just cause 3 is about, is an AMD problem or something? well the 390 is a better card overall so i would go for it but the 970 would run fine too

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

You want either MSI or Sapphire, I believe. Sapphire 390s are great and tend to be cheap, or at least they are in the UK.

I hear the R9 390 is better, But some games and monitors prefer Nvidia cards, and will get you a few extra frames here and there

despite what everyone says

get the one you like the appearance of best

because aftermarket cooling only affects a few mhz, which doesnt really matter in practical sense

but if you're not into appearance then you might wanna consider a brand for their customer services

that is if you turn on nvidia's gameworks features

which no one ever should, it makes your gpu performs like it had an arrow in its knee

I'd stick with a 390, it's better "price : performance".

Why would he do that, when he doesn't have any requirements for NV specific features, nor has he mentioned power being extremely expensive in his area?

Or are you just being a blind fanboy?

For gaming, AMD CPUs are almost never the best choice, Intel CPUs are simply objectively better.

xD If he had provided a decent reason the fair enough but "Get the 970" is blind fanboyism
