Looking at the survey thread it seems to me that VR is running best on GTX 970's and up, some latest gen AMD like the 390 seem to be struggling to make it to the green zone and are hovering at the top end of the yellow. It would be interesting to see the percentage of AMD R9 300 series users are ready vs the percentage of NVIDIA GTX 900 series who are ready.

If I hadn't already had 1 960, I would've went with the 970 but 2 960s in SLI > than 1 970 in everything but VR

I don't plan on using VR anytime soon, I'll wait until it's better optimized...but here's my rig
