Can you please actually explain some fun and challenging aspects of the game , not just say that its there - somewhere. I'm genuinely curious because from what I've seen the fun just isn't there, I just don't see it.    

its nothing comprehensive yes. nothing like poe. but to say it's not a skill tree? why?
however at least the skill tree allows for variation in play style. (a medic focused style, dps, tanky etc) on top of the fact that the skills tie into your gear pretty heavily.
in the cbt and obt you could barely do any of it. you simply aimed for the yellow items in the safe room in the dz and thats about it.

i rocked the pahkan+purple m1a during the obt most of the time with the heal+sticky bomb. now i find myself gravitating towards the shield and sidearm heavily.

on top of that, if you play solo you need to balance all 3 which is difficult to do.
also, i didn't say that it's different. so please don't say i said that. i simply mentioned that the content available is only around 10% of its entirety. 

Now there is abilities, talents and also perks. Everything you get from unlocking your 3 main wings. Plus, along with unlocking those 3 wings you get access to more functions in the game, like the armory, re rolling your weapon stats etc. Also you finally could up your filter level and craft stuff.

So yeah you could get a gist of how the game would play out from the cbt + obt. the game mechanics can't exactly change fundamentally. So yes it feels like it will be a grind, doing the same things over and over. the game just came out, there's still the end game content to look forward to.

i'm also curious. do you own the game? have you played it? if you have, did you at least put a decent amount of time into it? or did you base this via the cbt/obt? or maybe you didn't even play the game and simply watched or read about it.
have you tried soloing in the dz? its tough, you can get picked on by groups. its exciting, knowing you can get shot by any group you come by.(because its 2v1, 3v1, 4v1 etc people tend to pick on you.)

however, you can say that it promotes group play and that going solo is stupid since there is matchmaking. i beg to differ, its an rpg type game. i've dropped a 4 man rogue group back in the obt alone by myself. why? not because i'm some godtier player, but because they were poorly geared. end of story.

going solo is a perfectly fine way to play, it increases the difficulty since the enemies don't scale to 1 person in the dz unlike in the pve area. they have also increased the difficulty in the dz so you should go try it. solo in the dz. See how you fare. If you feel like just dropping dead the moment a group of rogues try to kill you and have no qualms about it then i guess yeah its takes some of the challenge away. making sure you can put up a fight when its 2v1 or 3v1 or even 4v1, now thats a lot more difficult.

 

Of course i'm not some mlg player. so maybe i'm just a scrub who can't play. This is just based on my own experience.

 

But if you did buy the game and didn't find it fun, i'm sorry you don't find it worth your money. 

Things i find fun:

Going around doing the missions and side missions and what not. looking for the collectibles along the way.

finding the next better gear for my character

Being able to jump in with my friends and mess around in the dz. Be it collecting loot or rogue hunting etc.
Solo-ing in the dz, knowing that i'm alone and don't have anyone to depend on. group and solo play style varies and personally it keeps it fresh, switching back and forth.

Spending hours in the dz just doing it over and over and over. why? i don't know why, i just like it. it appeals to me.

Maybe it stemmed from me playing an mmorpg for 8 years that had no quest system or goal in place and just simply played to gear and level up.

 

Just to reiterate. YES, the gameplay is repetitive. don't need to say its boring over and over again. 

I myself don't know how long i will be playing this. but then, spending 40usd on a decent game imo and playing for a solid 2-3 months? i'd say not too bad. who knows i might play longer.

 

So now, did you find in any way why the game is bad? boring to you is one thing. does the game have anything game breaking in any way that made it shit? 
graphics are still really good, despite the downgrades, runs pretty well still. (you could say you got cheated, fair enough)
the ai could be better, but they seemed to have remedied it at the moment with greater numbers.
player collision is something i already noticed in the cbt when my friends boxed me in, but imo its not that big a deal since you can always log out and log back in. ( i believe ubisoft has also clarified that you can simply keep moving towards the player for ~3s for the physics to kick in and go past the guy, i have yet to encounter any of these trolls yet so i can't be 100% sure)

bullet sponge enemies, well i guess what did you expect from an rpg type game. you can't exactly have r6s 1 shot headshot model here. ( Yes it will undoubtedly turn some people off, so if you belong to this group, yeah it's probably better to stay away)

is the tom clancy name justifiable? yeah well you could say they were tied down by their own name. it does limit what they can do.

so yeah the genre is kinda iffy, but then again many are able to look past that, or at least once you sit down and play you get used to it. 

hackers in the cbt. i definitely noticed this, however i have yet to see this in the full release, the devs know about it during the beta so i'm assuming they have counter measures in place.

i did notice graphical glitches a few times they are rare though and nothing major, however it might be due to my setup. after my win10 install, things haven't been all smooth so i'm more inclined to think its me. 

 

Did you fall for the hype train? well this has got to be the biggest factor, all hyped up and got disappointed with what you saw. Sorry if you fell for the hype train.

Am i defending the devs/ marketing team for hyping the game up? no not really. However if you yourself keep hyping for a game that isn't out yet then i guess some of the fault lies with yourself.

 

all in all, its no perfect 10/10 game. its alright for most, good for some. it does have it's cons still in the end. 

In the end, my point stands, if you don't find the game fun, or simply just can't see it, it's obviously not meant for you. 

don't like it, don't buy it, simple. Perfectly justifiable, vote with your wallet.

I played the cbt + obt, liked it. Bought it before launch, will do it again. 

if you do know of certain things that make the game totally bad, do tell.

 

sorry for the long post, nothing personal. i just don't want people to jump on the hate train just cause its ubisoft and its cool to hate on ubisoft.

If you read the reviews, they don't crucify the game for bugs but for it being utterly boring.

Btw don't care that its Ubi, never did never will. Don't excuse it with that,there is no hate train at least about that. Its a game thats getting a lot of attention at the moment and its like half the people are this kid that has found and animal , runs around and spins it around by the tail and the other half are just sitting there poking it with the stick wonder if its stuffed or dead wondering what to do with it. BUT I play shooters , I play RPGs , I play MMORPGs , there is no reason why I shouldn't like this game and yet here I am writing this bullshit trying to find the answer. Its simple as that. 

As a lifetime MMO and Sneak/Shooter (MGS) player - I personally enjoy it. Are most of the missions the "same", sure, however, i believe that the story behind it kind of makes that necessary, you're taking back a city by taking out the people who took it over... I mean how different can every mission be? You're eliminating the enemy.

The game is fine. I'm enjoying an Ubisoft title for the first time in a freaking long time. If the game is "boring" to someone, they should go actually do stuff because there is a shit ton of stuff to do. There's depth in the story, there's excellent visuals, the cover system and gunplay is amazing, and the missions are fun. They're not stupid repetitive like the side missions were in Watch Dogs (a game I have about 300 hours play time in, please don't ask why).

I didn't say that. I was implying that most of the negativity is uncalled for just because you have to have UPlay, the servers were having issues (not for me) in some areas which is typical for online titles - I don't see how people expect day-one for a title like this to be perfect with the network. Then you have those people who will buy every game, no matter what people are saying about it, and still bitch about the game even though they already knew what they were buying.

I have not played it, and honestly have no intention to.  Everything I know about the game tells me it's like Borderlands in the way loot and shooting is, which I hate.  I want my shooting games to reward me for my ability to aim, not the stats of my gun.  Never really understood those kind of games, so I don't bother trying.

It would seem that Ubisoft may be heading in the right direction towards better PC releases as I have not had any crashes or many issues, other than getting stuck occasionally, with The Division so far.

That's not really going to happen anytime soon It's classed as an MMO they have a full roadmap for the first year and will be bring DLC out the year after and I think the third year too

I refuse to pay for DLC (there are exceptions). why not just update the game with the content instead of locking it behind a paywall. look at csgo, left for dead 2, etc. we get new maps, missions, and content every few month and sure, there's csgo operations that are technically dlc but it's literally the price of 1 DLC pack from Ubi/EA anyway

Agree with you, though the prime example against Destiny's model is Warframe. Destiny and Warframe have similar aspects in the game, but Warframe has such a nice pricing model. Its free to play, where you can trade certain weapons/items among players for platinum (which is the premium currency). Its still growing steadily (and arguably slowly) as a game despite being out for a couple years now. This game is the reason why I've avoided many MMOs, which have that restrict the playerbase or content behind a paywall.

Really interested in Division, but the pricing model makes me want to completely avoid it, since you are most likely paying a big premium to play the game early and won't get rewarded if the game does happen to try to become more accessible by dropping price.

If R6S or The Division had been made by practically any other company I would've bought it, but I've had one too many issues with Ubisoft.

That's really dumb though. If Ubisoft puts out good titles, you should buy those titles (if you like the game anyways). Just because the game is published by Ubisoft doesn't make the game inherently bad to buy just because le Ubisoft.
