it's a severe downgrade.

I got a GTX 970 over a year ago, went from 900p to 1080p. I just want to be sure, can I get a 1440p monitor? Can my graphics card handle it on at least 50-60 fps? If so what monitor. Keep it a low price. Like below $350 - 370

VRAM might be an issue. You'd need to drop settings to medium-high

Is that a bad thing? Will it still look and run good?

if you go over 3.5GB of VRAM games will be unplayable

i got 2 1440p monitors and a gtx970 and it works great.

I usally play on one monitor while the other one is either idle or playing youtube videos or something.

I never had any issues plaing games like Fallout 4 or Witcher 3.

a GTX 970 can do 1440p... Decently. The VRAM might be a problem in some games and generally it might not handle it in all games (note that I said not in all games, there are plenty of games that are still very playable, especailly if you drop down to medium-high).

I have always said this and will still say it: R9 390x and GTX 980 are likely best bang for buck 1440p cards, but if you got the $$$ to go for a Fury X or 980 Ti: they will perform awesome too.

Anyways, that was kinda off topic.. Yes, you can play in 1440p in most games on High or some on Medium
