Well, it looks like HBAO+ is behind all that corruption in Gears of War.

If the game was built in UDK, then PhysX is used as the core physics engine as there is no support for Havok. And since there's no option to disable it, I'm guessing it's built in UDK.

Looking through gameplay, there aren't any PhysX specific particles or fabrics or anything like that, just the core game physics. At that point it's no heavier than if it was built in Havok, albeit with worse multithreading when running on the CPU which shouldn't be an issue anyway unless you've got a potato PC. Remember it's a physics engine that does more than just pretty effects

The game is still using the 2006 version of Unreal 3 of all things. Have a look here at how bad the entire situation is thanks to the laziness of Microsoft and their developers. That version of UE3 wasn't even fully finished and only supported DX9 of all things.

Such a shame, I was quite looking forward to it since I liked the original games but seeing how sloppy of a job it is and the fact that it's a Windows store release just kills it. I wonder if they're using many, if any, DX12 or even 11/10 feature sets or if it was a straight up rushed port

You don't like to read, do you?

The reason it gets reset is because windows has full control of the file. It's not hard to remove it.

Hate to rain on your parade you pitchfork wielding cretins, but it works brilliantly in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The reason Gears of war runs shit, is because Microsoft didn't put any fucking effort or money into it and have a proven track record of being terrible at PC gaming (how ironic that may seem). Bad developers and low budgets make shitty games, not gameworks.

But please, do continue and make yourself look like an ass. I'm making a list of all the people I can safely put into my ignore list based on this topic.

You guys are the fucking worst.

And yet people have repeatedly said that that does not work.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

I would like evidence. Everything on the Windows Store is atrocious right now.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!
