i havent broken anything when i wasent playing with all the old ass hardwere i have in my room but i did drop my G1 GTX970 about 1.2m right after i unboxed it. it was fine and there is no way to tell it hapaned so i guess i either got lucky or its really durable

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

When i originally built my PC i had a Radeon 6770 which i must have bricked whilst handling it when installing it. I also had 2 dead motherboards straight out of the box too.

My luck eh :D

Well this one time a 270x caught on fire in my computer. This card was used in mining and I guess technically it wasn't while building the system.  I posted the original video on this forum years ago if anyone remembers. I made the video into a GIF for your viewing pleasure:

I had a motherboard die within 24 hours, not sure if I killed it or it was dead on arrival.

On a whim I tried the automatic overclock feature from Gigabyte on a brand new A8-3870K APU.  ...So that CPU never POSTed again.  I may have lied, said it turned up DOA, and had them send me a replacement.

My first build, actually. Dropped the processor on the carpet, with the contacts facing down, didn't think anything of it.

But When I first powered the computer on, I noticed some smoke coming out of it, which freaked me out so much lol, thought the computer was going to blow up. I was fortunate, though, it was a small clump of dust that burned off, I just blew on the processor to get the rest of the stuff off, and the computer still works to this day

You shouldn't over tighten it. It even says to not over tighten in the manual. I'm fairly certain that was your fault.

I have broken 4 micro USB cables. My chair has really sharp wheels that like to cut wires. I also stripped out a fan screw. Added some glue to the hole to fix it.
