what is the rest of the system spec?

 

stranded sound card???

 

 

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Probbably, we need more info. Hopefully a single-rail, high standard PSU. Also other components are very important in this case an overclocked Phenom uses waaaaay more power than a modern i3/i5

As others have said, it depends on the rest of your components, a GTX 780 is a 250w card at stock so you'll have 250w left for the rest of your components.

500W is enough but what PSU
