650D re/build log

legodude

Lovely build man!

Lol I've seen a lot of people replace their 560ti's with 770's (myself included). Its strange considering how they're two different tiers, I guess once the rig building bugs got you...

I really just needed the extra horsepower and when I saw the price and backplate I had to have it!

Very nice build. Only thing I don't like is the Corsair CPU cooler. A H100i would look much better but yeah money is a factor  :P

I'm planning on getting the h110 or h110i when corsair release the SP140s

Corsair 650D, i5-4690K (Corsair h50 cooler), Asus ROG maximus VII Ranger, Asus GTX 980ti Strix, 16GB Corsair Vengeance pro series Red (2x8gb 2400mhz), Corsair HX850W, Asus Xonar Essence STX, Sennheiser HD595 / Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 250 ohm, Samsung 850 pro 128GB / WD black/blue/green, OCZ vertex 3 60gb . Corsair M40/Corsair k70.

Nice and clean looking build :D

Btw: Have you gotten yourself a adapter for that strange USB 3.0 solution? If not: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Akasa-AK-CBUB09-15BK-Internal-Adapter-Cable/dp/B005LDY0SO

It is the adapter I have myself and I love it <3

Classy as f**k! :o

I don't know, if this would be possible, but ever thought about "stealthing" out the BluRay drive?

Sorry dude I missed your comment! I feel bad now :'(

And yeah I really want to stealth it, loads of people stealth them on the 650D, but I don't think I have the skills to try, but I think I'll give it a try, that or grab an external drive and mount it under the desk.

No worries, haha! Yeah, but you'll sacrifise a little bit of speed with an external drive, don't you?

I think so, but the only thing I use the drive for is installing windows (don't do that much!) and playing Blu ray films so I don't think the speed is a problem

Oh the good old 650D's 'cut out the front mesh' mod. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes in lowering noise levels.

Nice build btw.

Thanks! It really does make a massive difference, I have no idea why corsair would even have mesh in the first place!
