I personally love the EU, it has repeatedly stood up to the US and Russia, helped smaller countries survive the Global Recession, allows massive freedom of movement through out Europe and promotes equality. Also, I'm adamant the UK will vote to stay in the EU.

Or instead of trying to become an economic superpower, and shared decisions on law and universal human rights.  They could just disband the E.U., and return to governing their own countries, so if one country is in disagreement, they don't have to still follow the mandates of the European body.  The problem with it all is that only some of the countries are capable of pulling their own weight.  It'll fracture sooner or later with only a few being capable, and those few supporting the drainers, and sooner may save some countries begin the road to economic recovery.  They could still co-operate and work together without a European Union.  Just as they did once before, allowing countries to actually go back to having sovereignty and governing themselves properly, and without the looming presence of the E.U.  The U.K. may spark a beginning to it if they end up leaving.

This actually made me think of the US under the Articles of Confederation after the Revolutionary War ended. Before the Constitution, the US was very similar to what the EU is right now.

Greece is so far down the hole.  The government is trying to blame anyone for their own mistakes.

Its not just the governmant, its also the people.

And your right, the uk probably will leave as David Camerons deal is about as useless as the pope having a magnum dong.

Not all the time. more likely that a representative government represents the majority of the population. but money can get rid of the people's opinion in politics.

aren't northern countries the ones with the highest level of socialism? they seem to be doing fine

Perhaps, but from what I understand the problem in Greece is that they passed a bunch of retarded laws, that they couldn't afford to support.

I think people are being too hard on Greece, they were borrowing money like every other country then the Euro collapsed and Greece's interest exploded, now, the government is being forced to privatise the shit out of everything and massively cut public spending in order to avoid defaulting, but they don't want to do that because they are a Radical Left party, it goes against what they believe, so they're in a very tough situation.

its not a problem with the euro the problem is that the greek prime minister was lying about how much greece was making so people felt safe giving greece large loans and then when the next prime minister came into office he had an OH SHIT moment

I was talking about the reasons for the Euro crash, and not specifically Greece.

I'm very surprised but yet very sad to see how people try to blame other people for actions they're not directly responsible for.

Don't you understand that EU govs are asking to the people that have the less, undergo a crisis they didn't triggered, are getting poorer every year, have to share a work market that is completly ossified and yet, have to pay all the taxes AND participate to the wealth of their country by consuming, to give more time of their lives for companies that don't pay taxes ? To give up social and human rights for something they won't be rewarded for ?

This is isn't populist arguments but reality. Just check that scheme and think.
