Awesome build my friend. If it goes well you should consider selling the design to a company. I would definitely buy something like this for a HTPC.

Current PC: Origin Millennium- i7 5820K @4.0GHz | GTX 980Ti SLI | X99 Deluxe

can you explain what you are using your computer for? because the xeon upgrade is odd to me :) not saying it is a bad choice they are actually often cheaper than the i5's and i7's for not that much lower speeds and same cores and threads. (lga 1150 obviously.. not 2011)

Because it's basically an i7 for the price of an i5! I do a lot of CAD work and photo and video work as well, and Xeons are generally regarded by non-techie people as 'high end' since it's professional/server stuff. That and it's not a very hot chip, which is pretty necessary for this chassis.

Haha, that was probably one of my first ever PC chassis I've done. It was actually mostly hardware from an HP Slimline.

Maybe that should be the inspiration for my next cardboard case, in it's current testbench form it is a little large to take around easily.

Bit of an update, not a big one but it does provide some more clarity on the design as I feel I haven't provided enough. I got a copy of the template printed (on a single size D sheet, so the scale came out wrong) and I folded it up and added some cross braces like I mentioned, just to give you guys a better idea of the chassis.

Now, I should definitely mention, this paper model is a LOT BIGGER than the actual chassis. In fact, it's scaled up about 1.3x, so it's around 30% larger than the actual case. But again, this is just to provide more clarity on the design and structure.

Just picture this, except made of steel and a lot less wavy (since this is pretty thin paper), as well as a lot smaller:

DSC_1148.thumb.jpg.38921d0bf07eaf78d3735

Anyway, small update like I mentioned before. As I get another template printed tomorrow (this time printed at the right size) I will begin construction of the chassis. This was a misprint but I took the opportunity to show the design a bit more.

That's all for now, expect a pretty big update in the coming day or two.

Thanks, @byalexandr

Also, feel free to come up with a name for this cool little build, all my creativity went into creating the chassis so I'm out of ideas xD

'Tyrion Lannister'.

'Zoltan' (Witcher reference).

'Aramis' (If I'm not wrong, he was the shortest of the three musketeers, but also the cleverest and nimblest).

'Edward' (This could be interpreted either as a Cowboy Bebop or a Fullmetal Alchemist reference, depending on which you like more).

Suggestion for a name: Tiny Tina

Why? 1) Awesome Borderlands reference is awesome 2) If you manage to build this, and thus setting a new standard for SFF, it will be tiny, but brutal - just like TIny Tina

BTW: It's Aluminium. Period. I mean, what's the logic, Americans? You say Titanium, not "Titanum". It's the same thing; derived from the same family of words. Peace!

Looking at your sketches/drawings for the case and this mock-up paper-model you've made I am struck with one issue: Where are your exhaust-vents? I guess you'll have a front mounted 140 mm intake fan (by the looks of it). But where are you going to push that air? Or in the case that you are letting the fan blow the air out of the case, where are your intakes?

Or have I understood your case wrong; is the PSU placed up in the back, or down in the front?

Ugh, it's quoting all weird but to answer your question:

The front intake is actually a 120mm fan, the chassis is 130mm wide. With my new exterior design, which I haven't unveiled yet (except in my status update), the front 120mm takes in air from side vents similar to a Define R5, and the exhaust is taken care of by the PSU and some passive exhaust above the motherboard I/O. The GPU is basically isolated from the rest of the system and has it's own passive intake and exhausts. The PSU is mounted directly above the mobo, pretty much where you'd put a taller CPU cooler. The photo that you quoted me with is just the frame, so the side panels and the rest of the exterior are not shown.
