Do the Gtx 960 keep being a good Gpu to play most of the games in 1080P 60Hz?

This is an odd way of phrasing it, and in my opinion you are completely ignoring the fact that the AMD 380 and 380x has more stream processors than the 960 has Cuda cores. It doesn't matter how either performs, if the 380 in it's entirety performs better than the 960.

The 960 has 1024 Cuda cores and perform worse.

The 380 and 380x has 1792 and 2048 stream processors respectively. And they perform better.

He also neglected to mention that the driver came the day after that bench was done and things are vastly different now. Fanboys like to ignore common sense and apparently 4-5 days for a driver and patches of a new game is heresy.

Either provide a source or real head-to-head comparison between the two on even terms (none exist) or stop generalizing a GPU architecture without knowing what you are talking about. Cheaper? How? Source? Do you have an internal information on the raw materials and production costs?

So... AMD put more Streams to equals  the quality of the cuda, gotcha?

Because if amd and nvida streams and cudas are the same thing , everyone will buy amd cards because they have more.

WHAT QUALITY? for fucks sake man READ. Open Wikipedia and REAAAAAD.

If you focus on one it will be vastly superior than the other because of SOFTWARE. Hence why in Sony Vegas a 280X beats a 980 Ti...

From first hand experience not just some graphs that someone has found, it is still a good GPU for 1080p 60fps but if you are looking to play newer titles coming out this year and if your budget can stretch to it (idk what your budget is) then get the 4gb vram model as i find that the 2gb vram model sometimes struggles to run games on high. But you are looking at playing most games on medium to high settings.

lol wtf is this - have you not seen GCN's math compute performance? One of the only reasons that CUDA ever performs better is because Nvidia uses its influence to get software developers to use their tools. Find something that uses low-level API access to the stream processors in AMD cards and you'll see that they are far more powerful than games have ever let on. They're extremely powerful cores, they just can't get people to use them properly because they're used with more open platforms.

Except when new games release, and months afterwards. Yes the hardware is faster, I won't deny that. But lots of games struggle on AMD hardware these days on launch due to crap drivers, and not only "gimpworks" titles. And not all of them get 'fixed'.

It's at the very least something to take into consideration.

That would be a day before the release, in which case you have defeated your own argument. Your evidence of faulty release drivers are from a day before release. But yes, i won't deny that Nvidia has the edge. In fact, Nvidia is crushing AMD. Looking at the 1440p benchmark, where the faster memory on the HBM AMD cards should win, if not at least catch up. The results are the same.

That is still prior to the driver, however. Once the Game Ready drivers from both are released it's different.

You're continuously berating people that don't want to buy AMD GPU's. No idea why no moderator has corrected you for it by now.

  1. I completely agree the 380 is better.
  2. Bull fucking shit

Both AMD and Nvidia release drivers, so quit pounding that drum please. For every AMD driver released, you can expect at least 2 from Nvidia. So both will see improvements. Yes they jockey back and forth, but over the course of a games relevance nothing really changes.

And fps does not tell the whole story. Not even close.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

It can't be worse than criticizing day 1 patches for a game that came out the 28th, and show to data from the 27th. Then neglect to link to the site where you found the data.

If i didn't know any better i would say it was deliberate. But surely, it was an innocent mistake right?

Because this forum is a AMD indoctrination center.

Start a topic calling Nvidia evil, it says up even when multiple moderators are tagged.

Say something bad about AMD, you attacked and issued a warning if you defend yourself.

980 Ti is better than Fury X
380 is better than 960
Fury is better than 980
950 is better than 370
