Get an H110i GT, and a higher wattage PSU.

A 550W PSU is more than enough for a 980, maxwell bro.

Yes but it's a high end rig it needs upgradability.

Yes for SLI, but if he doesn't every plan on going the SLI route I don't think the next high end Nvidia/AMD cards will require more than 550W with all the efficiency improvements.

Currently I am not planning on going down the SLI route, however maybe in the future. But I am getting a PSU that fits what I need currently as it is all that my budget will allow at this point in time.

The R9 Fury is a bit faster than the 980, especially the Nitro from Sapphire. It overclocks a lot higher than the reference PCB and is just a bit more expensive. 980 is still a ncie card though.

If you plan on multiple cards in the future, keep in mind that Crossfire scales much better than SLI and there is a lot less micro-stutter.

Use http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ to make lists. I see nothing wrong :P Maybe get an R9 Nano instead of the 980 because it performs almost the same yet it costs a lot less.

I considered the nano, however, the MSI 980 is only £20 more expensive, and I like the look of the larger GPU cx

The only thing I saw that i woudl change is the GPU, a 980 isn't a very good choice anymore since a 970 is almost the same performance and a 980Ti is liek 2 970s.

Changed mostly everything.

New CPU. Will help with video editing, rendering, etc since it has an extra 2 cores for better multi-core performance.

New GPU since the 980 Ti is much better than the 980.

New PSU since it gives more space for upgradeability.

New SSD since Samsung SSD's are one of the most reliable, and have better speeds.

Another case which looks almost exactly the same if I'm correct.

Another motherboard of course, since we've moved to the X99 chipset.

Added some case fans for better temps, as well.

I hope this fits in your budget, haha.

It actually is a decent case just because it's not your taste doesn't mean it's bad. It's his pc not yours

Pick GPU to suit budget... you can also swap for a atx case (nzxt are good as are fractal and Phanteks, though fractal and phanteks are more professional looking)
