Three way SLI viable??

Care to back your opinion up with evidence? Just about any recent tri SLI review shows decent scaling up to 3 cards in the vast majority of new AAA games, and the 970 is at a great price point for potentially running tri SLI.

 

However, quite obviously doing so at 1080p is pointless, you would need triple 1440p surround or a single 3440x1440 monitor to take advantage of that much power.

From what I've been reading lately, three way scaling isn't that bad as you were saying.

I use a 1440p monitor, but would like to reach the higher refresh rate of my monitor.

I don't really have any interest in 4k60 gaming, as I prefer higher refresh rate personally.

As of now I get around 90ish fps on most modern AAA games, and feel the $180 usd would be worth coming closer to 144fps.

3x SLI would be a bad choice. Microstutter from Hell or performance loss. PS2 for example lose around 25% performance compared to 2xSLI. Many Games will suffer. Witcher 3 is another example. No way i would do that until SLI realy work without issues.

Wrong again, microstutter in SLI has also been fixed a long time ago.:

Well, i believe my knowledge and exp more. You can keep search in google and post stuff here. Doesnt change the fact that 3 way SLI is useless. Microstutter has been fixed? Rofl...

I've decided to go for it, and sell them for 980's if it doesn't work out.

I've been planning a build log for the last few weeks, and will post a review with benchmarks and my personal opinion when it's done.
