Asus Swift PG348Q Curved Monitor

Source: http://rog.asus.com/466782016/gaming-monitors/asus-republic-of-gamers-announces-swift-pg348q-curved-monitor/

I've seen recently people saying that they will be holding out for a curved IPS display >100Hz with G-Sync.

By the looks of it ASUS has delivered again.

It will no doubt be Linus' monitor of the year.

For the low low price of one kidney and your soul.

On a more serious note, I really like how fast monitor tech is progressing, I'll be holding out a bit longer on my 60Hz TN's tho

I'll probably wait for this to come out, and if it's the same price as the Acer X34 Predator I'll get the Asus, If not I'll get the Acer.

100Hz and G-sync? Asus, did you miss the AMD hype train?

I mean the next thing we expect is at least 144Hz 3440x1440 and probably with freesync and DP 1.3...

If asus wants to stay leader in the gaming monitor market, they can't get sloppy, they have to keep their game up.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Sorry, but Gsync is only DP 1.2 atm. And not even 1.2a. The joys of proprietary technology.

I like Asus' monitors, and I like some of the things they are doing with the design, but they took it too far. It sits right between "cool" and "vulgar". Considering that it is already obsolete due to the 100hz limit by the Gsync module, it's hard to accept a 1300+$ price tag.

More ultra wide gaming monitors should push the price down, not up. Fair enough Acer's freesync model only goes to 75hz (Linus overclocked hi to 85hz), but that thing can be had for about 900$. That's a LOT of money in difference for 15hz.

Now that NVidia is forced to update their obsolete DP 1.2 controllers to 1.3, they really have no good argument not to support Adaptive Sync, although we all know they won't.

Either way, let's hope for a Freesync version with 144hz. That would be nice.

Tbh i don't care about G-sync.

It's expensive and the free alternative does sort of the same.

And i agree on the price tag, it's expensive for what it is and pricing should indeed go down and not up.

It will be interesting to see what Nvidia will do, i mean Freesync is already supported with dp 1.3 and if they update G-sync it would just mean they are assholes.

There is NO reason why they should update G-sync apart from screwing people and getting more money.

I don't know about a 144Hz ultrawide freesync one, but i do know samsung (didn't really expect it from them but whatever) is going to release a 3440x1440 144Hz monitor. With VA, not great, but i don't expect IPS either. And of course with DP 1.3

Also do not expect a 3440x1440p 144hz Gsync this year, we do not know if these panels are going into production in Q2 or being released in Q2, the AU Optronics I expect will be Gsync, however AU Optronics have response times all over the place and do not make good VA panels (look at the ACER Predator Z35) also I expect QC to be awful

We need LG or Dell to make a 3440x1440p 144hz Gsync monitor, so do not expect a good 3440x1440p 144hz Gsync monitor this year

Actually it is Q3 for the bigger 3440x1440p 144hz panel

Samsung is not releasing any 3440x1440p 144hz panels. It is only AU Optronics who is releasing the 3440x1440p 144hz panels. However it is not confirmed to have Gsync or Freesync yet, also we do not know if the panel is going into production then or if it has finished production, also it does not mean that the monitor will be released then

Found more information, AU Optronics started production of the 2560x1080p 144hz panel in May 2015 and only just got released in December, so it took 7 months from production to release, so expect the 3440x1440p 144hz panel in Q1 2017
