he just build this and is trying to be a show of but actually just looks like a retard.

here it is

x99 sli mobo

16gb ddr4

i7 (I presume a 5960x based on price)

2x4tb wd blacks

1tb ssd

some cancer thermaltake psu

and a 970

a single 970...

this build is for gaming.....

I want to punch him!

My rig: r7 1700 @ 3.9/1.35v, 16gb ddr4 3200, assorted rando SSDs, hx 1050, vega 64 1650/1025

Nah man, he's running a 6700HQ in his x109 mobo with a gtx 280. it's killer dawg. And don't forget that he has 1TB of memory!

The point is that the system is extremely poorly balanced. $1000 CPU and a $350 GPU? Nope...

How many monitors is he running at 4K? I don't see a problem with his build unless the goal is to overspend on every piece of hardware instead of picking and choosing.

I have a friend that blew $2000 on his computer. Single GPU, fairly low level i7... He's used it like twice

My point was if the GPU is running all of his game at max settings at the highest resolution his monitor supports than why does he need to spend more on a better (or multiple) graphics cards?

I know one kid who had some bulldozer 8-core with dual 780Ti SLI, and 64 GB of RAM he said he was planning to build. I laughed. Also some kids have alienware laptops for gaming (minecraft) and it makes me cringe.

Remember, these are prebuilts, it could very well be a 5820k. Its still unbalanced, and absurdly overpriced, but not quite as overpriced.

That's okay. I was in a guild with someone who did a slightly worse build. This guy also works in IT apparently.

 

He ordered a prebuilt from CyberPowerPC with a 6-core Intel CPU and a GTX 950.

 

Yes, it's primarily a gaming rig.

his only other use for it was 4k porn... which as he is 15 is highly illegal

970 with 4k gaming? i can see a 970 doing videos like that at 4k but not games at ultra settings

if he built it why would he do a 5960x? why not a 5820k with a GTX 980ti or 6700k with a 980ti?
