Need a good WiFi adapter

Wolther

Hello, I'm stuck in between going for a USB Adapter or a PCI wireless card. Is there really a different between a USB or PCI one? Also I kinda want one that disconnects rarely. If you guys have any suggestions for one, it would be widely appreciated.

If you only have USB 2.0 then PCI-E will be faster, if you have USB 3.0 then your bottleneck will by your wireless protocol speed but I would prefer PCI-E just so it's out of the way. I've thrown out enough USB dongles that stick out and get broken off while plugged in.

Unless he got one that had external antennas. But yeah I generally say PCI express is king. Keep in mind USB is a shared buss. So too many device plugged in to the ports could theoretically slow you down.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I prefer TP link PCI-E cards just because they're all kept inside the case.

TP link does have good inexpensive hardware. I would highly recommend them.

My WND-4800 card served me three long years before it started giving me issues. One of the best $45 I've ever spent. Also, the T8E 1750 has been a fantastic replacement so far.
