Hardline Tubing Fittings

Do you need different fittings for a hardline tubing loop?

Yes, normal compressions won't work. EK, Bitspower and Monsoon all have offerings for hardline fittings.

That's correct, the fittings for bendy tube have a barb that goes inside the tube where the collar screws over the tube.

I believe that hardline fittings just have an opening and the tube is held in place by the O-ring/O-rings.

yes they need to be hardline fittings

and they need to be of the same brand as the tubing you use

Well not quite required...

But Primochill tubing requires either primochill or bitspower (unknown about others). Because it uses 12/14mm variations.

EK/Alphacool uses 13/16mm so they have to use the same fittings.

Also note the 10mm ID from primochill is about .5mm smaller than from EK/Alphacool so their bending kits won't work properly either.

singularitycomputers has had problems when trying to mix different brands of tubing and fittings

even though they had the exact same ID OD measurements

i would not recommend using different brands, which could either not fit in the fittings or be too loose in the fittings and will leak

just pick where to buy your fittings from and buy tubing from them too, not another brand

Ok, I'll specify more.

EK/Alphacool fittings are known to NOT work with Primochill tubing (and Bitspower but it's a super uncommon tubing) and vise versa.

Bitspower fittings are KNOWN to work with Primochill tubing.

Alphacool fittings are known to work with EK tubing but the opposite is not known.

I just got xspc 14mm od hard-line compression fittings, they worked great with Bitspower 14mm tubing. To be safe I would buy the same brand if at all possible
