Nvidia Driver Issues

Go to solution Solved by Darkman,

Well it appears the 1050p HP monitor is failing. It was made in like 2007 too. Can't run my 900p hp as a third for awhile as it doesn't have an HDMI port. :( Back to two monitors I go with a big empty spot on my desk.

bhahahahah... until like 2013 there was unlimited amount of monitors being able to run off nVidia cards on Linux, but they cut it down to 3 on the driver side because Windows drivers couldn't do more than 3

so I call bull on that it's hardware limited

"Windows drivers couldn't do more than 3" is pure BS

I'm running a 4 monitor setup since 2013 and it still works perfectly fine.

I had NO issues on w7 with it.

Yes w10 shits itself when you want to use 4 displays but that's W10's fault, with W7 it's all fine.

And people were running 6-display setups back in 2011-2012...

It is hardware limited and not software limited, just a fact. If it wasn't an issue i wouldn't have to use my iGPU now.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

I know Ostwind used to run 6 monitors 24/7. :P

wait... you're running an AMD gpu aren't you?

that stuff I said was only nvidia they since ever couldn't run more than 3 displays on Windows (nVidia drivers on Windows) but in like 2013 they patched their linux drivers to cut it down on linux as well justifing the move as to make it a more unified experience with nvidia products or some bullshit like that instead of... idk fix their Windows drivers or smthn...

nvidia has always lacked in multi-monitor department

Well the 1050p monitor I found in a closet in my house like 4 years ago and the TN panel on it is horrid. Kind of irritating though that nvidia drivers would be so picky about a mismatched resolution with the other panels.

I guess I'll fold a bit and watch something on my plex server and see what happens with the monitors driver uninstalled. If it works, thanks @Ostwind for the advice.

I don't have any problems with mismatched resolutions(though I'm not saying that there aren't problems with it just stating my personal experience). A one point in the past I had x1 1920x1080 monitor, x1 1920x1080p 24hz TV running 1920x1080 60Hz, x1 1440x900 monitor, x1 1366x768 monitor, x1 1024x768 monitor and x1 1024x738 monitor running at 1320x1150(or something close to that) and it never gave me issues. I think that there is something else at play rather than the GPU, I'm thinking that it's either a driver issue with a monitor specific driver like I mentioned before or the 1050p monitor is faulty.

No with removing the driver to the 1050p one. Let me see if I can get my brothers 1080p panel, if not, I can take the 680 from my second rig and throw it in my main to see what happens. :(

Did you restart and ensure that the driver did not auto install again?
