Giving private lessons?

arvark

So, I'm 15 years old and I'm thinking about giving private english lessons for very cheap, I never studied english but I always got 8.5 MINIMUM and got out of mid school with 10/10, the problem is my age, what do you think? Is it a normal thing for a guy to give private lessons?

I never studied english

Then no, you're not fit to give private lessons on English. Knowing and teaching are very different.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

At the age of 15, odds are people won't take you seriously. As well, knowing English does not equate to being able to teach English, aside from basics which isn't what most people are looking for if they are in a foreign country wanting to learn the language.

Just because you scored well on English tests does not mean you are fluent enough in the language to teach it.

It's not normal but that's not a bad thing at all. If you're good enough go ahead, I did a similar thing when I was 16 and it was really nice to help people (and also $$$ :P )

Nobody will trust you.

Also I know english relatively well but I definitely cannot teach it to someone, being able to speak a language doesn't mean you are able to teach it to someone.

Though you might be able to tutor younger students, and I mean students like pre-school or kindergarten age kids, in English. In the areas of reading and writing.  Of course that depends on your prowess in those areas.

Well with "I never studied english" I meant, "never had to study", I know the rules (this is what we call them in Italian) and was actually able to teach to half of my middle school class for a week while my teacher couldn't speak because of a throat ache.

Sorry to say this but no, there are plenty of people with college degrees who give private lessons for dirty cheap and they even struggle to find enough students (10-15€ per hour).

You could do it for fun. :)

http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/it/exams/proficiency/ Get a certificate first, and then hope people will trust you with their money.

Good luck

Well for now I have two Trinity certificates (Grade 4 and 5), got out of G4 with B and out of G5 with A, that must be something.

The Trinity is essentially worthless.
