Surround 2K or Ultrawide 4K?

PerForm

Hello All!

I am looking to rebuild my rig this summer and have just started the early planning stages.  Before I start looking into component hardware I would like some help on deciding what the ideal display setup will be for me.  I am torn between shooting for a Triple 2560x1440 surround setup or a Single 4K monitor (likely with a couple of my old Samsung 2048x1152 monitors for support).

Coming From the Dual 2048x1152 60hz setup I am currently on I know either route will result in an awesome setup.  Please share any and all Pros and Cons withe either/both of my proposed setups.

Thanks in advance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Triple 2560x1440 (0 Votes)

Pros

-Larger, Immersive, Gaming Area

- Higher Resolution Side Productivity Monitors (Likely Not Needed However)

Cons

-Bezel Interference May Be Frustrating

-Lower Overall Gaming Resolution

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Single 4K with Support 2048x1152 Monitors  (3 Votes)

Pros

-No Bezel Interference

-Better Overall Resolution, Although Smaller Viewing Area.

Cons

triple surround is not really that great for stuff more than just racing games...

most people here on LTT prefer a single very high quality ultrawide monitor over multimonitor

I prefer the ultrawide setup. Bezels bother me too much. And game support and compatibility is still (even with the support from AMD and nvidia) very finicky

Spoiler
