Don't have any isopropyl at all, how to clean thermal paste?

I fucked up my placement with the tapped holes and well, now I need to clean what I fucked up.

Any ideas?

i just use nailpolish remover (grills in the house) it work a treat.

Nail polish remover can work in a pinch. Don't use too much though.

do you have any hard liquor? like vodka or whiskey? those can have a huge amount of alcohol by volume, and yes coffee filters should work just fine

I just use paper towel or toilet paper if I don't have any-though with heatsinks/water blocks its almost a most if the surface isn't smooth or polished.

I used a babywipe on my brother's cooler and let it dry. Working fine now. Was that safe? I checked for lint.
