memtest86 question - time of 13 tests

nm76

Hello. I have a question. So i am testing 16gb ram. I choose to make 6 loops of 13 standard tests.

But. 1 loop is taking 1 hour. But second loop is much more like 3 hours. Is this normal?
Why second and third loop is taking so long? When 1 loop is short.

Depends. If it's brand new RAM I'd say 1 loop is enough. If it's giving issues then run over 12 hours.

First time using memtest. I noticed that at the start completing one pass only took about 35-40 mins, but later some took much longer to complete... is this normal??

Yes, it is perfectly normal. It tests different addresses and area's, so the more passes, the longer it takes to complete each consecutive pass. It takes me 27 minutes to do a single pass, but after 8 passes, it takes hours to complete a pass. I normally just run memtest in my sleep after doing any memory overclocking. If i wake with no errors, its on to phase 2, which is stress test (custom Prime 95)
