Does an open NAT type improve connection?

Guest

I have been playing COD: Black Ops III for a while now and I've noticed that my NAT type is on strict and I was wondering if this damages connection speed on strict. I couldn't find anything on the first page of Lord Google.

Thank you for your help

;)

It shouldn't do. It can cause some connection issues with certain types of requests from outside your network, but it shouldn't have any affect on speed.

Not speed, it only affects latency/ping.

If you have a strict NAT Type then you might have some issues joining/hosting parties but it shouldn't affect your connection quality or reduce ping if you have an open NAT Type.

That said, you should consider port forwarding to get an open NAT type.

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ok, I know I shouldn't say this but I am young and do not have access to my router's control panel. I know how to get in it's just my Dad changed it from the default password and I don't feel like ddosing my router with a brute-force attack on the password. I also know what to do once I get inside the router just not the ports that I need for the starting port and ending.
