MSI R9 390 good value for money?

Is the MSI R9 390 the best price/performance card at this moment? From what I can tell it is. Just wanted everyone's opinions because I think I've finally decided the card I want.

The r9 390 is also from my research the best price per performance for that price range.  Especially if you can find one that is on sale, I got my asus r9 390 strix for $270

Cooling won't be an issue. The TDP is insane on the 390 but I think the better performance is worth it.

It comes at the same price point as the 970 and usually outperforms it. Since the 970 has been hailed as the price-performance king since its release, I don't see why it wouldn't be good to get a R9 390

MSI has a better record of overclocking that I can find, the Sapphires tend to run a little cooler.

You won't have much of a problem at 1080 but 1440 might be a struggle to hit 60 at times. And most especially GameWorks or TWIMTBP games. And day 1 drivers.

When I talk about 1440p I'm thinking games like CS:GO, TF2 etc if they support it.

You're good then. But if you plan on AAA games, expect to turn down settings.

1440p maxed out at 60FPS Isnt going to happen, In some games 1080p only pushes 30FPS on that card.

Well, I've never had a problem with nVidia games day 1 (aside from shitty broken ports like Batman). Sure, things could be optimized more but I've never encountered any major issues. Either I'm really lucky or nVidia's been really good to me.
