Help with Sony Vegas 11 rendering options

I have no clue where to put this on the forum but i thought i would just put it here :). Since my friends recommended me Sony Vegas 11 (Pro) i thought i would use it, but whenever i render a 3 minute video on Good (full) i would find a 1-3 GB video that is choppy. Can someone give me a template that is compatable 1080p rendering and low file sizes.

What codec are you using?

Yeah, when you render in large filesizes sometimes media players like windows media player can lag quite a bit.

Heh, when I render a 10 second clip in after effects the filesize can come out huge (4-5GB) But as soon as I put it with other clips in Premiere it compresses all the clips down well below 400MB.

 

What I think you should do is find a video editing software that can properly compress videos. :) Sony Vegas does have choppy outputs on default.

He's asking about a piece of software, the software section seems pretty bang on to me.
