Hey guys ! Im downgrading , should i worry about a reinstall or should just swapping them work ?

Swapping them should do the trick. They're basically the same CPUs but 5820k has less PCI lanes.

Just clear the CMOS for good measure. That'll reset any overclocks since some BIOS can be a bit silly.

Nothing to worry about, they are basically the same cpu, with more pcie lanes on the 5930k.

What are you downgrading for, may I ask?

 

Im building a friend a computer and he wanted a 5930k , so to save some money im buying a 5820k for me and selling him the 5930k. I personally think they are the exact same chip (besides pcie lanes ) and since I dont want to OC over 4ghz I thought that was the best choice. I dont plan on ever adding an extra graphics card or 2 and dont have much use for the PCIE Lanes.
