Less resource using alternative to skype?

Skype isn't really resource intentsive at all? Why do you need something less heavy, you have a good pc :P

If you have total control over those whom you communicate with, skype for business?

It's pretty great and they are constantly adding features.

 

You have text and voice chat, can easily set up personal chats, but also big group chats.. etc. etc.

There is a browser app (just runs in the browser) and a desktop app (Windows and OSX) as well as mobile apps (Android and iOS)

Or just use hangouts, you need a gmail window open for email anyways

Uses 400mb of RAM and reduces about 13 fps in GTA V.

 

Ryzen 5 1600 - GTX 980 Ti - Broke.

I think he means bandwidth wise. Team Speak is the much better choice as the server is somewhere else not you. TeamSpeak is fine and is easier to use then you think

Uses 400mb of RAM and reduces about 13 fps in GTA V.

Hm that's strange,  Idon't have that problem. But I'd recommend discord then.

It's pretty great and they are constantly adding features.

 

You have text and voice chat, can easily set up personal chats, but also big group chats.. etc. etc.

There is a browser app (just runs in the browser) and a desktop app (Windows and OSX) as well as mobile apps (Android and iOS)

i dont understand you people's problem with skype...

 

the only place i've had problems with skype and performance was an athlon 64 and 1GB ram, while doing a 2-way video chat, with an ethernet camera and mic.

 

in every other case resource usage was literally zero...
