So is "Green Monday" a thing now?

I noticed a few places have a ass ton of deals today. I was kind of lost until I was browsing the news and came across an article dubbing it 'green monday'. Why green Monday? What's our fascination with associating days of the week with colors?

Didn't even know Green Monday was a thing until I checked my inbox this morning and saw 12,000 emails from sites advertising their deals today -___-

 

most weren't even that good....

Green Monday is the 2nd monday of December.  it was named by Ebay to described its best sales day in December
